Overview
The MSc in Management Engineering of the University of Palermo trains engineers with the ability to take strategic decisions and tackle management issues. Management engineers are managers with advanced quantitative problem-solving skills able to manage companies that operate in increasingly complex, international, and technologically advanced environments.
The programme is multidisciplinary and integrates high-level management skills with in-depth technical competencies in several areas such as operations and supply chain, finance, economics, project management, innovation, strategy, logistics, and technology management.
The educational model of the programme is strongly based on active learning and the courses are taught with several teaching methods: lectures, practical sessions, case studies, flipped classroom, and in-class discussion. Students are involved in practical-based labs and project works developed in teams.
The Management Engineering programme is entirely taught in English and it is organized around a common body of foundation subjects characterizing management engineers and four specialized tracks dealing with different disciplines that allow students to customize the programme according to their attitudes and expectations:

- Track 2. Digital Transformation
- Track 3. Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Track 4. Data Analytics for Business
The Management Engineering programme opens exciting career opportunities for its students. Management engineers find a job very quickly (official statistics report that in 2020, 95,2% of graduate students found employment within one year from graduation, while 100% within three years), in any kind of industry (Automotive, Agrofood, Oil and Gas, Textile and Fashion, Business Consulting, Banks, Healthcare, Public administration, etc.), and for different positions (Operations and Supply Chain, Marketing, Corporate Finance, R&D, Controlling, etc.).
The University of Palermo also offers an online version of the MSc in Management Engineering programme. Lessons, meeting with teachers and tutors, and ongoing tests take place entirely online. This online version of the programme allows students to follow the degree course without giving up a professional activity and from anywhere. The only exception concerns the exams: to guarantee the value of the entire degree programme, these will be held in presence. To enroll in the online program there is an additional tuition fee.
